SUPPORT ENERGY SAVING AND SIGN THE E-PETITION TODAY!

Raise the export tariff to promote energy saving and pay more to homeowners, schools and charities who generate solar electricity

Responsible department: Department for Energy and Climate Change
The minimum export tariff has been set by the Government at just 3.1p per KW per hour. Yet energy companies charge consumers up to 15p for the same electricity.

We petition the Government to raise the export tariff to 9p. An average house would gain an additional £100 per annum.

This would offset some of the loss of FiT (feed in tariff) and provide real cash benefits for new adopters and the existing 100,000 householders, schools, churches, charities and companies that have solar power installed.

Please sign the E-petition by clicking on the below link-

Carbomat UK Delivers First REC Solar Pro Training Event

Last week, the first group of Carbomat customers attended a jointly hosted REC Solar Professional training event held in London. The Solar Professional partner program is designed to give installers a deeper understanding of REC processes and products, provide design and installation support and access to a range of exclusive benefits. These include co-branded marketing, an additional 2 year warranty extension on REC products, access to state of the art project design software and service fees in the rare event of a site recall due to product failure.

The REC Solar Professional Programme has been running successfully in mainland Europe for some time but has recently been launched in the UK. We were delighted to host our first event, and had a great turnout of quality installation partners, already actively installing REC Peak Energy products.
To qualify for the program, installers had to be sponsored by Carbomat UK, agree to the REC Solar Professional program guidelines, to have demonstrated their expertise by having national accreditation and successful completion of REC certification training.

Attendees were given training and presentations from key REC staff, and sat an examination at the end of the process, which on completion enabled them to become certified.

We believe that the program has real substance and adds value and benefits to REC, Carbomat, our installers and their customers alike. It is an aspirational program and only open to businesses that meet the entry criteria. Feedback from the day was extremely positive and the partners were eager to spread the word on their newly attained ‘Solar Pro’ status.

Further Carbomat/REC Solar Pro events are planned and will run in conjunction with the existing Carbomat Academy training programmes. We also provide bespoke training sessions on our PV system solutions range and other renewable products we supply. For further information on Solar Pro or any other training events please get in contact on 01932 895040 or info@carbomat.co.uk

A NOVEMBER TO REMEMBER!

In November 2011 the team at Carbomat UK faced its most challenging period to date. This was as a result of the surprise DECC announcement informing the industry of a dramatic change to the FIT (feed in tariff), and that the 12th of December 2011 would be the deadline for installations to qualify for the 43p tariff over 25 years. The rate thereafter would be lowered to 21p. The speed and depth of this reduction caused mayhem in the UK PV market as installers nationwide were overwhelmed with orders for installations of PV kits.

In the hours after the announcement the Carbomat team met and agreed on a simple strategic plan to allow us to provide maximum service and satisfaction to our customers. Our main objectives were to initially focus on supporting our existing customers and to take on new customers as and when we could confirm their requirements. We gave some priority to customers requiring full system components as opposed to potentially selling out of one area in our product range. This enabled us to manage our stock effectively whilst also ensuring our customers had enough kit to complete their clients’ installations. This put us in a good position as we were able to supply many more customers than we would have been able to manage had we not managed our stock throughout the 6 week period.

At the height of demand the whole Carbomat UK team pulled together and worked centrally from our offices in Chertsey, Surrey. Our field sales team travelled from as far as Scotland to help with the huge number of calls, enquiries and orders. We were heavily supported by our colleagues across the Carbomat group in Belgium, who were able to use their experience and supplier contacts to help keep our UK warehouse supplied.

By keeping in close and constant contact with our warehouse, we were coping with up to ten times our normal volume of orders per day. The warehouse had to take on additional temporary staff to manage the continuous flow of orders. We managed to maintain a 2-5 day delivery window which we felt was a big achievement considering the immense work load.

During this period we are proud to say that all of our customers received product on time and were able to complete their installations prior to the 12th of December, we received numerous mails and letters commending the team on their service and support.

We would like to thank all our customers for their patience, loyalty and support during this period. At the time of writing we face further uncertainty over the FIT and again face increased demand for product and information. Our customers can be assured Carbomat UK have a positive outlook on the PV and renewables market and are working even harder in 2012 to support our customers.
